The Camel Pit of the Westin Dragonara Resort, which usually serves as a car park, turned into a fun fair on Sunday 2nd October, when Westin associates spent their Sunday morning washing cars, selling at the car boot sale and turning the wheel of fortune. Joseph Chetcuti also gave up his Sunday morning to help in this event and spent the entire four hours on the microphone, urging people and presenting the artists that performed free of charge to raise more funds. Ira Losco, Tristam B, William Mangion and David Ellul all performed live for the crowd, while signature artist Frank O’Neill entertained the guests with his caricatures. The car wash was a great hit and 50 cars were washed by hand in just four hours. Several prizes like dinners, Sunday Lunches, weekend breaks and the star prize of a weekend break at the Sheraton Catania were all won every time the wheel of fortune was turned! Kids were not left out, as the Westin’s Kids Club organised several games and activities for those Present. Tourism Minister Dr Francis Zammit Dimech also visited the fund raising event and praised these kind of initiatives that help other people in need. In fact, the funds raised will go to UNICEF Immunization Fund that will enable UNICEF to immunise millions of children against 6 killer diseases. This event was sponsored by Printline, PJ Sutters and General Soft Drinks. |
