COST CONTROL

ASSISTANT COST CONTROLLER

The successful candidate will assist the Operations and F&B Revenue Management Analyst in all aspects of cost control, ensuring that all operational costs are in-line with forecasts and that all policies and procedures are followed consistently.  Main duties will include regular costing, menu engineering, spot checks, reporting, document processing, month-end procedures and support to the hotel stores and receiving departments.  

The candidate will also be responsible for the daily maintenance of the stock control and point of sales systems including updating of items and ensuring that all recipes and interface settings are accurate and updated.

In performing this role, the successful applicant should meet the following requirements:

  • An Ordinary Level of education is a minimum requirement for this position.  
  • The successful candidate must be organized, flexible, having an eye for detail and able to work under pressure
  • The prospective candidate must be highly computer literate and must also have strong interpersonal, verbal, and written skills. 
  • Previous work experience in a similar position will be considered an asset.  
 

SALES & MARKETING

PUBLIC RELATIONS & MARKETING EXECUTIVE

An exciting position that of Public Relations & Marketing Executive is currently vacant.  The ideal candidate must be a highly motivated, creative and proactive individual who enjoys communications and working to pre agreed goals in a busy revenue driven environment. Reporting to and working closely with the Director of Sales and Marketing, this role will require daily communication with key Department Heads. 

The main responsibilities will include:

  • Driving the brand positioning of The Westin Dragonara Resort
  • Identifying and creating marketing programs to support the Resort’s marketing plan whilst developing the media plan for the year
  • Planning and developing promotional and communication strategies, including managing and reporting all social media channels
  • Liaising with the appointed designers and approving all artwork design
  • Developing and maintaining excellent press relations with local and national media
  • Planning and leading all client and media events for the hotel.

The minimum pre-requisites for this position are:

  • In possession of a Bachelor degree in the Sales & Marketing fields
  • Minimum of two years’ work experience in a Marketing/PR media role
  • Strong Communication and excellent English writing skills with excellent pen, spelling and grammar
  • Excellent organizational/ administrative skills
  • Computer proficiency – sound knowledge of web, graphic art software, and Microsoft Office applications
  • The successful candidate must be in possession of a mixed skill set including excellent photography and design, social media skills, ability to track the performance of marketing activities & campaigns together with excellent data analysis skills.
 

Front Office

FRONT OFFICE AGENTS (PART-TIME/CASUAL BASIS)

The successful candidates will be focused on providing excellent service and on creating memorable experiences by making emotional connections with the hotel’s guests. In this position, the agent will have a direct impact on the overall guest experience and will be responsible for ensuring maximum satisfaction from the moment guests arrive at the hotel until the moment they check out.

In performing this role, the successful applicant must meet the following requirements:

  • Fluency in English and in other European languages
  • Sound communication skills
  • Having a friendly and welcoming attitude
  • Computer Literacy
  • Previous work experience in a similar role
  • A Diploma in Hospitality/Accommodation Operations or equivalent will be considered an asset
 

FOOD & BEVERAGE SERVICE

FOOD & BEVERAGE SERVER/BARTENDER - ORVM LOBBY BAR/RESTAURANT

We are looking for an outgoing individual with previous work experience in a restaurant environment.  The ideal candidate should have a pleasant personality, excellent communication skills and enjoys interacting with guests and customers.  Previous experience within a five star environment will be considered an asset.


FOOD & BEVERAGE SERVER - TERRACE RESTAURANT

The position of full-time Food & Beverage Server is currently available within the Terrace Restaurant, the Resort’s main restaurant. This position’s main function includes the provision of excellent guest service, by discovering all of our guests’ needs and acting on these needs promptly, effectively and with confidence to ensure that guests’ expectations are exceeded and standards are consistently maintained.  Additional duties include handling guests’ requests and resolving guests’ complaints, upselling the Restaurant’s Food & Beverage product and liaising effectively with other departments.

The successful applicant should meet the following requirements:

  • Good communication skills including fluency in English and preferably in other languages
  • Relevant work experience in a similar role
  • Having a positive attitude, high levels of motivation and enthusiasm
  • Willing to work different shifts which also include weekends and public holidays 


FOOD & BEVERAGE SERVERS

We are currently looking for Food & Beverage Servers to work in the resort’s restaurants and outlets on part-time/ casual basis. This position's main function includes the provision of an excellent guest service, by discovering all of our guests' needs and acting on these needs promptly, efficiently and with confidence to ensure that guests' expectations are exceeded and standards are consistently maintained.  

Ideally candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills including fluency in English and in other languages
  • Having a positive attitude, high levels of motivation and enthusiasm
  • Willing to work different shifts which also include weekends and public holidays

Students who will be available throughout summer and willing to continue working in weekends during school months are encouraged to apply.

 

CULINARY OPPORTUNITIES

SENIOR CHEFS DE PARTIE & CHEFS DE PARTIE

We are currently seeking to recruit Senior Chefs de Partie and Chefs de Partie to supervise the assigned areas in order to prepare and provide high quality food in accordance to a consistent standard.  We currently have opportunities in the A la Carte section, in Quadro Restaurant Kitchen and in the Butchery section.

Ideally, applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • In possession of City & Guilds 706/1 & 706/2 or HND / Diploma in Culinary Arts/ Certificate in Food Preparation or Production
  • Previous work experience in a similar role


DEMI CHEF DE PARTIE

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Chef de Parie in the supervision of the assigned areas in order to prepare and provide high quality food in accordance to a consistent standard.  Opportunities are available within the Sauce Section and in the Palio’s Restaurant Kitchen as Pizzaiolo.

Ideally, applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • In possession of City & Guilds 706/1 & 706/2 or HND / Diploma in Culinary Arts/ Certificate in Food Preparation or Production

ASSOCIATES CAFETERIA DEMI CHEF DE PARTIE

The selected candidate will take care of the preparation of meals at the staff canteen.  The chosen applicant will work Monday to Friday; morning/day shifts. Apart from having sound culinary skills, the right candidate should also have a friendly and hospitable approach.

Ideally, applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • In possession of City & Guilds 706/1 & 706/2 or HND / Diploma in Culinary Arts/ Certificate in Food Preparation or Production
  • Previous work experience in a similar role


COMMIS CHEFS

We are currently seeking to recruit passionate Commis Chefs who will support the Chef de Partie or Demi Chef de Partie in the daily food preparation in order to meet the set standard and quality levels.

STEWARD SUPERVISOR

The selected candidate will be responsible for the highest levels of cleanliness, hygiene and order as per HACCP requirements within the indicated kitchen and back of house areas. 

Ideally, the successful applicant must possess the following requirements:

  • A Minimum of one year experience in a similar role in a restaurant/ hotel kitchen


STEWARD

Responsible for cleaning and storing china, silverware, pots and pans and other restaurant items used in the food and beverage operations whilst maintaining kitchen and storage areas in a clean and orderly manner.  Responsible for the proper cleanliness of all kitchens and food preparation areas, including ovens, grills, stoves, hoods, fryers, tables and floors.

 

WESTIN FAMILY KIDS CLUB

ANIMATORS

The main duties will include coordinating and assisting during kids parties whilst encouraging the children to participate in all the activities taking place during the party.  The activities will include face painting, musical games and cutting of the cake.

In performing this role, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be available to work evenings, in the weekends and during the festive season
  • Having a lively, bubbly and outgoing personality

SERVICE EXPRESS

SERVICE EXPRESS AGENT

The post of Service Express Agent is currently available on both full-time and part-time basis.  This position’s main function entails answering & directing all telephone calls, whilst handling guests’ requests promptly and professionally, with the aim of providing maximum guest/customer satisfaction.

In performing this role, the successful applicant must meet the following requirements:

  • Advanced level standard of education
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluency in English and in other European languages
  • Sound know-how of hotel operations
  • Customer Service Skills


SERVICE EXPRESS ATTENDANT

The main function of the Service Express Attendant is to provide efficient and accurate delivery and pick up of items to and from guest rooms, as directed by the Service Express Command Centre in order to deliver outstanding guest service.

Duties and responsibilities include in-room dining, luggage services, greeting and escorting guests to and from their room, responding to guest inquiries and requests in an efficient and friendly manner whilst ensuring that newspapers, packages and amenities are delivered to guest rooms in a timely and professional manner.

In performing this role, the successful applicant must meet the following requirements:

  • Having an outgoing Personality
  • Sound communication skills
  • Fluency in English and preferably in other languages
  • Basic Food & Beverage Knowledge
  • Basic IT knowledge will be considered an asset
 

HOUSEKEEPING

PUBLIC AREA ATTENDANTS

Selected candidates will be responsible for keeping the resort’s public facilities including the lobby, front desk, restaurants and restrooms in a neat and clean condition.  Chosen candidates might be requested to deliver miscellaneous goods and supplies to guest rooms or guest floors and to move furniture, supplies or equipment.

HOUSEKEEPING ROOM ATTENDANTS

The selected candidates will be responsible for cleaning guest Rooms in accordance with brand and hotel standards to allow a sufficient quantity of vacant and clean rooms, in order to ensure a safe and clean experience to our guests.  Candidates must be able to interact with guests in a courteous and friendly manner and to respond to guests’ questions, provide guest assistance and information as requested.
