CULINARY OPPORTUNITIES

PASTRY CHEF

We are currently seeking to recruit Pastry Chefs on full-time basis at Chef de Partie and Demi Chefs de Partie levels.  The main function is to assist The Executive Pastry Chef in the preparation and production of high quality pastries in accordance to the hotel’s needs and standards.

Ideally, applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • In possession of City & Guilds 706/1 & 706/2 or HND / Diploma in Culinary Arts
  • Minimum of two years’ work experience in a similar role.

 

CHEFS DE PARTIE / DEMI CHEFS DE PARTIE

We are currently seeking to recruit Chefs de Partie and Demi Chefs de Partie on full-time basis.  The main function is to assist in supervising the assigned section of the kitchen in order to prepare and provide high quality food in accordance to a consistent standard.

Ideally, applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • In possession of City & Guilds 706/1 & 706/2 or HND / Diploma in Culinary Arts
  • Minimum of two years’ work experience in a similar role.

 

COMMIS CHEFS

We are currently seeking to recruit passionate Commis Chefs who will support the Chef de Partie or Demi Chef de Partie in the daily food preparation in order to meet the set standard and quality levels. 

All the successful candidates willing to make part of Westin’s Culinary Team will be provided with the best on the job training together with other training programmes which will contribute for career advancement / promotions with our company.

Ideally, applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • In possession of City & Guilds 706/1 or a Diploma/Certificate in Food Preparation & Production
  • A minimum of one year working experience in the field.  

 

STEWARD SUPERVISOR

The selected candidate will be responsible for the highest levels of cleanliness, hygiene and order as per HACCP requirements within the indicated kitchen and back of house areas. 

Ideally, the successful applicant must possess the following requirements:

  • A Minimum of one year experience in a similar role in a restaurant/ hotel kitchen

 

STEWARD

Responsible for cleaning and storing china, silverware, pots and pans and other restaurant items used in the food and beverage operations whilst maintaining kitchen and storage areas in a clean and orderly manner.  Responsible for the proper cleanliness of all kitchens and food preparation areas, including ovens, grills, stoves, hoods, fryers, tables and floors.


FOOD & BEVERAGE SERVICE

FOOD & BEVERAGE SERVER - TERRACE RESTAURANT

The position of full-time Food & Beverage Server is currently available within the Terrace Restaurant, the Resort’s main restaurant. This position’s main function includes the provision of excellent guest service, by discovering all of our guests’ needs and acting on these needs promptly, effectively and with confidence to ensure that guests’ expectations are exceeded and standards are consistently maintained.  Additional duties include handling guests’ requests and resolving guests’ complaints, upselling the Restaurant’s Food & Beverage product and liaising effectively with other departments.

The successful applicant should meet the following requirements:

  • Good communication skills including fluency in English and preferably in other languages
  • Relevant work experience in a similar role
  • Having a positive attitude, high levels of motivation and enthusiasm
  • Willing to work different shifts which also include weekends and public holidays 

 

FOOD & BEVERAGE SERVERS

We are currently looking for Food & Beverage Servers to work in the resort’s restaurants and outlets on part-time/ casual basis. This position's main function includes the provision of an excellent guest service, by discovering all of our guests' needs and acting on these needs promptly, efficiently and with confidence to ensure that guests' expectations are exceeded and standards are consistently maintained.  

Ideally candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills including fluency in English and in other languages
  • Having a positive attitude, high levels of motivation and enthusiasm
  • Willing to work different shifts which also include weekends and public holidays

Students who are only available in the evenings and weekends are also encouraged to apply.


SERVICE EXPRESS

SERVICE EXPRESS AGENT

The post of Service Express Agent is currently available on both full-time and part-time basis.  This position’s main function entails answering & directing all telephone calls, whilst handling guests’ requests promptly and professionally, with the aim of providing maximum guest/customer satisfaction.

In performing this role, the successful applicant must meet the following requirements:

  • Advanced level standard of education
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluency in English and in other European languages
  • Sound know-how of hotel operations
  • Customer Service Skills


SERVICE EXPRESS ATTENDANT

The main function of the Service Express Attendant is to provide efficient and accurate delivery and pick up of items to and from guest rooms, as directed by the Service Express Command Centre in order to deliver outstanding guest service.

Duties and responsibilities include in-room dining, luggage services, greeting and escorting guests to and from their room, responding to guest inquiries and requests in an efficient and friendly manner whilst ensuring that newspapers, packages and amenities are delivered to guest rooms in a timely and professional manner.

In performing this role, the successful applicant must meet the following requirements:

  • Having an outgoing Personality
  • Sound communication skills
  • Fluency in English and preferably in other languages
  • Basic Food & Beverage Knowledge
  • Basic IT knowledge will be considered an asset

WESTIN FAMILY KIDS CLUB

CHILD CARER

The selected candidate will be responsible for taking care of young children including infants.  The main duties will include organizing and participating in children activities including simple painting, drawing, handcrafts, games, reading to children as well as feeding and/or serving meals to children.   S/he will also be responsible for coordinating and assisting during kids parties whenever required.

In performing this role, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • In possession of Diploma in Early Child Care and Education or equivalent
  • Previous work experience with infants and toddlers
  • Willing to work on regular basis, including Kids Parties in the weekend when required
  • Having a passion to work with children
  • Be caring, creative, outgoing and responsible
  • Speak fluent English

BANQUETING

ASSISTANT BANQUETING MANAGER

The challenging position of Assistant Banqueting Manager is currently vacant.  This role calls for a dynamic individual who will be responsible for supporting the Banqueting Manager in managing effectively the Banquet Operation both within and outside the Resort.

Pro-active leadership and the development of the Banqueting Team are important aspects of this role in order to ensure profitability, Catering Experience Index and other key targets are achieved.

The successful applicant should meet the following requirements:

  • Previous work experience in a supervisory role
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Computer Literacy
  • A Diploma in a related field will also be considered an asset.

 

FOOD & BEVERAGE SUPERVISOR - BANQUETING

The prospective candidate will be supporting the Banqueting Manager in managing effectively the Banqueting Department through direct supervision of the associates in order to reach the departmental objectives and to provide an excellent service where guests’ expectations are exceeded and standards are consistently maintained.

The successful applicant should meet the following requirements:

  • Relevant work experience in a similar role
  • Good leadership skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Computer Literacy
  • A qualification in a related filed will be considered an asset

Engineering and Maintenance

ROOMS MAINTENANCE 

The position calls for multi-skilled tradesman/handyman skilled in maintenance work including basic electrical installations, plumbing, carpentry, plastering and painting, tiling, general maintenance on general room fixtures, bathrooms, doors, apertures and furniture. Two posts are currently vacant, one on shift basis including weekends and public holidays and the other post is on non-shift basis, mainly Monday to Friday.

The chosen candidates must be able to work independently and exercise initiative to ensure that the guest rooms are kept safe and well maintained to the highest standards commensurate with a top quality 5 star hotel.

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Applicable trade qualifications or proven experience
  • Pleasant personality
  • Fluency in English
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous work experience in a similar role will be considered an asset

HOUSEKEEPING

PUBLIC AREA ATTENDANTS

Selected candidates will be responsible for keeping the resort’s public facilities including the lobby, front desk, restaurants and restrooms in a neat and clean condition.  Chosen candidates might be requested to deliver miscellaneous goods and supplies to guest rooms or guest floors and to move furniture, supplies or equipment.

Ideally applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Outgoing personality
  • Good communication skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Previous work experience in hospitality will be considered an asset


HOUSEKEEPING ROOM ATTENDANTS

The selected candidates will be responsible for cleaning guest Rooms in accordance with brand and hotel standards to allow a sufficient quantity of vacant and clean rooms, in order to ensure a safe and clean experience to our guests.  Candidates must be able to interact with guests in a courteous and friendly manner and to respond to guests’ questions, provide guest assistance and information as requested.
